As an artist, I have been nurturing my craft since childhood, growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. While many of my childhood friends spent their afternoons outdoors, I found solace in my studio, surrounded by tools, ideas, and the quiet focus of creation. My father, a dentist, shared a talent for sculpting—though his medium was teeth—instilling in me an early appreciation for form and craftsmanship. My mother ensured I was immersed in the arts from a young age, often taking me to museums and galleries in New York City. When I was just nine years old, she dropped me off at my uncle’s place in the city, and I knew then that I was destined to pursue a career as an artist.

In 1985, I was accepted to the School of Visual Arts, where I thrived for six years, refining my artistic skills. Despite my passion, making a sustainable living from art proved challenging. I eventually apprenticed as a jewelry maker with the renowned East Village designer Gregg Wolf. Over the years, I mastered my craft, but the vibrant energy of New York City left little space for my creative process. I was drawn to the natural beauty and vibrant artistic communities of Ulster County—places like New Paltz and Woodstock. I ultimately established my ceramic studio in a barn on my property in the hamlet of Kerhonkson, New York.

Today, I specialize in creating sculptural vases, vessels, and boxes out of ceramics. Every piece is meticulously handcrafted, born from a deep love for craftsmanship and a commitment to artistic integrity. My goal is to craft one-of-a-kind works that embody my unique vision and style. I invite you to explore the world of my handbuilt ceramics, where the beauty and artistry of each piece come to life through dedication and passion.
